How To Get A Book Published

This has been one of those long, short weeks, right? But still, lots of good stuff:

The New York Rangers are going to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in 20 years.

More on that later.

Yesterday I went to BEA14 – Book Expo America’s annual confab at the Javits Center in New York City.

janelynchIf you follow my twitter and instagram you know I was ecstatic to see Jane Lynch signing her new picture book about bullying, Marlene Marlene Queen of Mean.

Not quite as big as the Car Show, BEA is still fairly staggering in scope and I was happy to chat with many fellow book lovers but the highlight was meeting Dani Dippiro of www.positivelypresent.com because I loved her story.

Five years ago Dani was not feeling positively present or absent. She was actually feeling very negative and started a course of self-study and research to turn her life around. This led to her starting her blog which led to a publisher stumbling upon her blog and asking, have you thought about writing a book? which leads to Dani’s first book, The Positively Present Guide To Life, being release this coming December.

It happens!

Dani was too busy working her publisher’s booth to be grilled on the details of her process but I promise to follow up.
